The route to copywriter apparently involves a popular YouTube channel, a stint on the King's Theatre stage, and a whole lot of poured pints and crafted cocktails.
But along the way I learned how to produce consistent work in a matter of hours week after week for a large audience, cultivated the confidence in myself and my work to present it to others, and developed the resilience to do something again and again until it's just right—even when being shouted at by drunk people.
The result of this eclectic aggregation of skills and experience has made me into a copywriter who not only thinks outside the box, but delivers a complete package with measurable impact.
My expertise is in copywriting, but I have a strong fundamental grounding in design, video and presentation in order to work with fellow creatives in those fields. I have worked alongside Art Directors, Designers, Videographers and other creatives to produce work across the spectrum of advertising from TV & film, to brand development and activations, to long-form website copy, and beyond.
I enjoy throwing myself wholeheartedly into a conceptual campaign, or a brand activation, to ensure that the end result is something everyone is happy with.
✒ I’m a bit English, a bit Welsh, and a bit Scottish.
✒ I bartended, waited, barista’d, and cooked my way through loads of hospitality jobs in my 20's, including a gay nightclub, a French Alps saloon, and a Welsh local with the UK's largest gin selection (at the time).
✒ I spent three years (2016 – 2018) working in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a stage manager, where I used my project management skills to good effect.
✒ I am a huge board game, escape room, and TTRPG nerd. This passion for narrative construction has directly influenced my approach to brand storytelling, helping me create comprehensive frameworks like the Encyclopedia Rebrandia and conceptualize imaginative projects that transform complex topics into engaging content.
