✒ Legendary whisky distillery Johnnie Walker were entering into a new partnership with the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) and as a result wanted stadium branding. The brand is well known for bold, striking copy-led design and so this project had to reflect a new partnership between two Scottish giants whilst also being eye-catching and unique.
The main centrepiece of the project was a large OOH location branding, a large entrance pillar outside Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium. This branding would not only be visible to any who came into the stadium, but would also overlook the main tram- and train-lines into Edinburgh, and was therefore seen by thousands of people every day.
The challenge with this task was to encapsulating the confident chutzpah of Johnnie Walker and the fearlessness prowess of the Scottish rugby teams, while also sticking to the client's preference for short, sharp and bold headlines.
Approaching this with these challenges in mind, I created the headline 'A Match Made In Scotland' which the client loved; especially when coupled with their iconic walking man and a bespoke design created for this project. Together with an invite to the partnership launch party, this branding remained on the site until the partnership ended.
